Oak Flats Race Report 2025

September 14, 2025 – The 2025 event “sold out” and had a total of 59 participants running (70 registered). It rained all night before, the trails were boggy and mist covered for most of the morning, but the sun broke through in the early afternoon creating some great trail experiences for people.

It was an amazing day of supporting runners achieving their PB time or distance, including a few first time trail runners. Changes this year included dedicated parking, the pit toilets actually being unlocked (I know I know) and the choose your own start time.
The Aid Station also had the Amazing Perky helping runners get checked in and pushing them to go further (if they wanted)! Special thanks to Perky for her help making the second year such a great experience for everyone.
Thank you to everyone who picked up the aid station camera or posed for a photo. Without your participation, we wouldn’t have the fun album to remember the day by.
Congratulations to each and every one of you on your accomplishment at this event!

The snack sharing table was fully stocked and I caught a few runners mandating a donut per 10k loop! Other runners rewarded their efforts with a bagel from Kaufman’s Coffee & Bagels (thanks Anna and David!).

This race allowed runners to pick their distance and here’s how it shook out!
23 runners knocked out 30k
6 killed it with 25k
6 conquered 20k
8 checked out both loops for 15k
11 runners cranked out 10k
5 made quick work of the short loop 5k

I was overwhelmed and humbled by the number of people offering to help out for next year. Keep an eye out on Facebook for an opportunity in June 2026 to help record the course routes on different devices.
