September 13, 2024 – The inaugural event had 37 participants (of 53 registrants) on the trails that day. Everyone got a little lost, everyone had a few laughs and everyone discovered new trails. It was a whirlwind of a day, but the weather was perfect and everyone had a blast.
This event overcame the pit toilets being locked, the forest service stopping by to figure out why the trailhead was so busy and a mass start that just became a “head out” shout from me.
The snack sharing table was well stocked and everyone got a chance to try samples from TheFeed.
Some of my favorite moments include witnessing new friendships form alongside seasoned trail runners reconnecting. Winning over the forest service’s support for future events and discovering new things on the trails I had never noticed before.
This race allowed runners to pick their distance and here’s how it shook out!
14 runners knocked out 30k
9 conquered 20k
3 tried both loops for 15k
4 runners cranked out 10k
7 made quick work of the short loop 5k
Thank you to everyone who came out and called out “See you next year!” as they left.
